MLB: Arizona 3, Atlanta 2

PHOENIX, July 24 (UPI) -- Tony Clark homered Sunday to help the Arizona Diamondbacks beat the Atlanta Braves, 3-2.

Royce Clayton and Luis Gonzalez each had two hits for Arizona, which won for the second time in five games.

Winner Javier Vazquez (9-9) yielded two runs and just three hits in eight innings with two walks and 11 strikeouts. He gave up two home runs to Andruw Jones.

Brian Bruney picked up his 11th save with a scoreless ninth inning.

Losing pitcher Horacio Ramirez (8-6) gave up three runs and eight hits in seven innings with three walks and three strikeouts.

The Braves have dropped four of seven and remain tied with Washington for first place in the National League East.

The Diamondbacks have gained four games on National League West-leading San Diego over the last week.
