WNBA: Houston 67, Charlotte 55

CHARLOTTE, N.C., July 17 (UPI) -- Sheryl Swoopes scored 20 points Sunday to lead the Houston Comets to a 67-55 win over the Charlotte Sting.

She compiled 14 points in the Comets' game-ending surge as the Sting lost for the sixth time in their last seven contests.

Michelle Snow (17) and Janeth Arcain (13) combined to add 30 points for the Comets, who have won seven of nine and avoided a third straight setback.

Tammy Sutton-Brown led Charlotte with 14 points. Allison Feaster added 12.
