PORTLAND, Ore., July 14 (UPI) -- Point guard Jarrett Jack out of Georgia Tech Thursday signed a multi-year contract with the Portland TrailBlazers.

In the NBA draft, the 6-foot-3-inch Jack was the 22nd overall pick by the Denver Nuggets in the first round. He was then traded to Portland for the rights to first-round pick Linas Kleiza and second-rounder Ricky Sanchez.

In three seasons at Georgia Tech, Jack averaged 12.5 points and 5.4 assists per game, and became only the sixth player in school history to reach both 1,000 points and 500 assists.

Portland also exercised the option on forward Travis Outlaw. His contract now runs through the 2006-07 season.

Outlaw was a first-round pick two years ago. This past season, the 6-foot-9-inch, 210-pound Outlaw averaged 5.4 points and 2 rebounds per contest in 59 games.
