Daniel leads Jamie Farr Classic

SYLVANIA, Ohio, July 8 (UPI) -- Beth Daniel shot 6-under 65 Friday to grab the lead through two rounds of the Jamie Farr Owens Corning Classic.

Through 36 holes, Daniel stands 7-under-par 135, one stroke better than reigning U.S. Open winner Birdie Kim and Hee-Won Han, who share second at 6-under-par 136.

Brittany Lang, who is playing in her first event as a professional, shot a 68 to share fourth with Gloria Park, Jeong Jang, Marilyn Lovander, Dorothy Delasin and defending champion Meg Mallon at 5-under-par 137.

Seventy-five players qualified for the weekend after making the cut at 2-over 144.
