PHOENIX, July 6 (UPI) -- Albert Pujols homered and scored three runs to lead the St. Louis Cardinals to a 7-1 victory over the Arizona Diamondbacks.

So Taguchi added a solo homer while Reggie Sanders knocked in a pair of runs. Pujols also extended his hitting streak to 17 games.

Jeff Suppan tossed 5 1/3 innings and allowed one run on five hits to earn his third victory in the last four starts. Suppan (8-7) fanned four and issued three walks on 93 pitches.

Craig Counsell drove in the lone run for Arizona, which has lost six of its last eight contests.

Shawn Estes (6-7) suffered the loss after he allowed six runs on six hits over 6 1/3 innings and also scored the Diamondbacks' run.
