KANSAS CITY, Mo., July 3 (UPI) -- In a game called in the top of the sixth inning Sunday night due to rain, the Los Angeles Angels of Anaheim beat Kansas City, 5-0.
The Angels were batting with one out in the top of the sixth when the game was delayed for 1-hour and 46-minutes -- before it was finally called. With the Angels' three-game sweep, the Royals dropped to a major league low 26-54, while the Angels improved to 50-31.
Winning pitcher Jarrod Washburn raised his record to 5-3. Washburn surrendered four hits over five scoreless innings with one walk and three strikeouts.
Kansas City starter Zach Greinke, who fell to 1-10, was battered for five runs and 12 hits in five innings with one walk and one strikeout.
