MLB: Baltimore 4, Cleveland 0

BALTIMORE, July 2 (UPI) -- Jay Gibbons hit a three-run homer Saturday afternoon to help the Baltimore Orioles beat the Cleveland Indians, 4-0.

Winning pitcher Daniel Cabrera (6-7) threw seven shutout innings in breaking a recent four-game winless streak. He allowed just four hits with two walks and five strikeouts.

Loser Kevin Millwood dropped to 3-6. He surrendered four runs and three hits over six innings with five walks and three strikeouts.

Rafael Palmeiro was 0-for-3 with a walk and a run scored and remains eight hits short of becoming the fourth player in major league history with 3,000 hits and 500 home runs. He is 0-for-6 in the last two games.

The Indians suffered their fourth shutout loss of the season, and the second loss in their last eight contests.

Baltimore won for just the second time in 10.
