MLB: Tampa Bay 5, N.Y. Yankees 3

NEW YORK, June 22 (UPI) -- Nick Green slammed a three-run homer in the seventh inning Wednesday to lift the Tampa Bay Devil Rays to a 5-3 win over the New York Yankees.

Jonny Gomes also homered for the Devil Rays and Danys Baez earned his 11th save as Tampa Bay bounced back from a 20-11 loss Tuesday night.

Winning pitcher Scott Kazmir (3-5) allowed three runs and four hits in seven innings with two walks and four strikeouts.

Loser Carl Pavano dropped to 4-6, losing for the fourth straight start. He was charged with five runs and six hits in 6 2/3 innings with one walk and seven strikeouts.

Gary Sheffield, who hit two home runs Tuesday and had seven RBI, hit a two-run blast for the Yankees and Robinson Cano hit a two-run triple.
