MLB: NY Mets 8, Philadelphia 5

PHILADELPHIA, June 21 (UPI) -- The New York Mets posted an 8-5 victory Tuesday over the Philadelphia Phillies.

Jose Reyes had three hits and scored two runs and Carlos Beltran had two RBI for the Mets. Doug Mientkiewicz and Brian Daubach added homers for the Mets, who won for just the second time in their last eight games.

Kris Benson (6-2) was the winning pitcher. He gave up five runs in six innings while improving to 6-1 in his last eight starts.

Pat Burrell hit a two-run homer for the Phillies, who have lost five of their last seven games.

Brett Myers (5-4) had his worst outing of the season, allowing six runs and 10 hits in 3 1/3 innings.
