MLB: Houston 6, Kansas City 2

KANSAS CITY, Mo., June 18 (UPI) -- The strong pitching of Roy Oswalt Saturday night helped the Houston Astros beat the Kansas City Royals, 6-2.

Oswalt (8-7) gave up seven hits and one run in eight innings with one walk with four strikeouts.

Houston has won two straight after being swept in three games by Baltimore.

Willy Taveras was 3-for-4 with a walk and three runs scored for the Astros.

Loser D.J. Carrasco fell to 2-2. He surrendered three runs and seven hits in seven innings with five walks and two strikeouts.

Terrence Long had a pair of hits and one RBI and Ruben Gotay knocked in the other run for Kansas City, which has lost two in a row after a five-game winning streak.
