NEW YORK, June 14 (UPI) -- Four NBA teams will play exhibition games against top European basketball teams in October 2006 and 2007, the NBA announced Tuesday.

The NBA teams, which are yet to be selected, will conduct training camps and participate in games in five European countries as part of NBA Europe Live presented by EA Sports.

This is the NBA's most ambitious European basketball competition," said NBA Commissioner David Stern. "NBA Europe Live will exemplify how sports leagues around the world can work together for the long-term growth of their sport."

The NBA's most recent visit to Europe came in 2003 for the NBA Europe Games, which featured a preseason game between the San Antonio Spurs and the Memphis Grizzlies at Bercy Arena in Paris.
