MLB: Boston 7, Cincinnati 0

BOSTON, June 14 (UPI) -- David Wells pitched seven scoreless innings and the Boston Red Sox wound up with a one-hit shutout Tuesday while beating the Cincinnati Reds, 7-0.

Wells (5-4) allowed just one hit as he remained unbeaten (3-0) in his last five starts. He hasn't lost since May 18. Mike Timlin and Keith Foulke each had an inning of perfect relief.

Bill Mueller drove in three runs and Manny Ramirez hit a homer for the Red Sox, who have won four of their last six games.

Ryan Freel's single in the sixth was the only hit for the Reds, who lost for just the third time in nine games. Luke Hudson (1-1) was the loser after allowing three runs and four hits over five innings.
