ATLANTA, June 10 (UPI) -- Eric Chavez put Oakland in front with a two-run homer in the seventh Friday night, giving the Athletics a 6-4 win over Atlanta.
Oakland overcame a 4-3 deficit through five innings, giving the win to starter Dan Haren (4-7). He gave up four runs on six hits in 6 2/3. The Athletics halted a three-game losing streak and won on the road for the first time in 12 games.

Atlanta has lost four of five. Roman Colon gave up the Chavez homer and fell to 0-3.
Oakland avoided what would have been its longest road losing streak in 19 years. The franchise record for consecutive road losses is 15.
