OVERLAND PARK, Kan., June 10 (UPI) -- R.W. Eaks and Gil Morgan both shot 7-under 65 Friday to share the lead after the opening round of the Bayer Advantage Classic.
The first round was delayed for 84 minutes because of the threat of violent weather, but the entire field was able to complete play.
Jim Ahern was alone in third at 66. Dana Quigley shared fourth place at 67 with Tom Watson, Rodger Davis, Dick Mast, Gary McCord, Mark McNulty, Lonnie Nielsen, Dan Pohl and Jim Colbert.
Eaks is looking for his first victory on the Champions Tour. He birdied four of the final five holes on his front nine and then eagled the par-5 fourth with a 65-foot putt.
