POLK, Iowa, June 3 (UPI) -- Mike Sullivan and Tom Jenkins both shot a 6-under 65 Friday that left them sharing the lead after one round of the Allianz Championship.
Ron Streck and Jim Ahern were tied for third at 66 while those at 67 included Graham Marsh, Ed Dougherty, Dick Mast and Bruce Fleisher.
Fleisher's round was highlighted by an ace at the 16th hole.
The start of the round was delayed three hours by the threat of thunderstorms and tournament officials eventually got the field around by using both the first and tenth tees.
Although not one of the established stars on the Champions Tour, Jenkins has been one of the hottest players on the circuit. He has finished outside the top 10 just once in the last six weeks, that coming when he tied for 12th at the FedEx Kinko's Classic in Texas.
