MLB: Toronto 9, Seattle 7

SEATTLE, June 1 (UPI) -- Two homeruns and five RBI from Vernon Wells propelled the Toronto Blue Jays past the Seattle Mariners 9-7 at Safeco Field.

Aaron Hill and Eric Hinske added two hits and two runs scored apiece for the Blue Jays, who have won seven of their last 11 games.

Chad Gaudin (1-0) got the win in his first start since June 27 of last year, giving up two runs and seven hits over five innings. He walked two and struck out six.

Ichiro Suzuki, Randy Winn and Jeremy Reed all had three hits for the Mariners, who had a three-game winning streak snapped.

Mariners starter Ryan Franklin was ejected with two outs in the third inning for hitting Reed Johnson with a pitch. Franklin (2-7) took the loss, giving up seven runs -- five earned -- on 10 hits.
