Sorenstam three back at Corning Classic

CORNING, N.Y., May 26 (UPI) -- Sophie Gustafson and Sherri Turner shared first place at the Corning Classic Thursday while Annika Sorenstam started well in her bid for another title.

Gustafson and Turner were tied at the top at 6-under 66, but Sorenstam shared third place at 3-under 69 with Catherine Cartwright, Jimin Kang, Jamie Hullett, Meena Lee and Laurie Rinker.

Sorenstam has played in five events on the LPGA Tour this year and has won four of them. Her only setback prevented her from tying the all-time tour record for most consecutive victories.

She made two eagles Thursday.
