MLB: Baltimore 3, Seattle 2

BALTIMORE, May 24 (UPI) -- Jay Gibbons broke a tie with an eighth-inning home run Tuesday night as the Baltimore Orioles posted a 3-2 victory over the Seattle Mariners.

Melvin Mora had three hits, including an RBI single, and Sammy Sosa drove in a run in his return off the disabled list for the Orioles.

Orioles catcher Javy Lopez broke his right hand after being struck by a foul tip from Bret Boone in the third inning. Also, second baseman Brian Roberts, who extended his hit streak to 14 games earlier in the night, left after being hit in the knee with a pitch in the seventh and is day-to-day.

Ichiro Suzuki went 3-for-3 with two runs scored and Richie Sexson drove in a pair of runs with two singles for the Mariners, who held a 2-1 lead after 6 1/2 innings.
