PITTSBURGH, May 20 (UPI) -- A three-run homer by Rob Mackowiak in the fourth Friday night started Pittsburgh on its way to a 9-4 victory over Colorado.
Jack Wilson contributed three hits as the Pirates ended a two-game skid. Mark Redman (3-3) got the win by allowing four hits and two runs over 6 1/3. Redman had gone the distance in his two previous starts.

The Rockies got home runs from Corey Sullivan and Garrett Atkins. Colorado's Jamey Wright (2-4) gave up four runs on six hits in six innings to take the loss.
Pittsburgh put the game away with six runs in the seventh. Colorado opened a 10-game road trip.
