DETROIT, May 14 (UPI) -- Brandon Inge had a two-run homer and Craig Monroe a solo shot Saturday as Detroit beat the LA Angels, 3-2, to earn a split of a doubleheader.
Carlos Guillen had three hits for the Tigers, who lost the opener, 4-2. Guillen extended his hitting streak to 11 games.

Tigers starter Mike Maroth (4-2) allowed two runs on seven hits in 6 1/3 innings for the win. He struck out six with no walks.
Orlando Cabrera and Jose Molina each drove in a run for the Angels, who have lost five of their last seven games. Angels starter Jarrod Washburn (2-2) allowed three runs on nine hits for the loss.
