DETROIT, May 2 (UPI) -- Carlos Pena had two home runs and three RBI Monday as the Detroit Tigers defeated the Boston Red Sox, 8-3.
Carlos Guillen had three hits, an RBI, and a run scored for the Tigers, who have won six of their last eight games.

Johnny Damon had three hits, an RBI and a run scored for the Red Soixwent 3-for-5 with an RBI and a run scored for the Red Sox, who lost for the fourth time in their last six games.
Pena's home runs help give Detroit starter Jeromy Bonderman (4-2) the victory. The righthander allowed three runs on eight hits, striking out six and walking five in six innings.
Bonderman got out of a no-out, bases-loaded jam in the fourth by retiring Trot Nixon, Manny Ramirez and David Ortiz in order.
