NBA: Phoenix 110, Memphis 90

MEMPHIS, April 29 (UPI) -- Amare Stoudemire scored 30 points Friday night as Phoenix grabbed a 3-0 series lead with a 110-90 demolition of Memphis.

The Suns will go after a sweep of the best-of-seven opening round series in Memphis on Sunday.

Joe Johnson had 20 points and Jim Jackson 17 for the Suns. Star point guard Steve Nash briefly left the game holding his right shoulder. Although he did come back in the contest, Nash sat out the fourth quarter.

Phoenix committed only five turnovers to set a franchise playoff record.

Memphis, still looking for the first post-season triumph in team history, was led by Lorenzen Wright with 14.

The Suns built a 10-point halftime lead and expanded it to 16 by the end of the third period.

Phoenix had to overcome an early deficit as Memphis scored the first eight points of the game.
