MLB: Minnesota 6, Kansas City 5 (11 inns)

KANSAS CITY, Mo., April 28 (UPI) -- Minnesota beat Kansas City 6-5 in 11 innings Thursday, sweeping a three-game series and extending the Royals' losing streak to eight games.

Lew Ford drove in a run to break a 5-5 tie in the 11th.

Ford and Justin Morneau, who had four hits, each drove in two runs. Jesse Crain (1-0) pitched the last two innings for Minnesota.

David DeJesus hit a two-run triple for Kansas City. Mike Wood (0-2) took the loss.
