Cowboys cut Richie Anderson

IRVING, Texas, April 28 (UPI) -- Fullback Richie Anderson, who is on rehab from neck surgery, was released Thursday by the Dallas Cowboys.

The 33-year-old Anderson played two years for Dallas. He had five touchdowns and 69 receptions in 2003 and one touchdown and 26 catches last season.

Anderson underwent neck surgery last week. His rehab is expected to take about five months.

Anderson played 10 years for the New York Jets before joining the Cowboys.
