MLB: St. Louis 1, Houston 0 (10 innings)

ST. LOUIS, April 23 (UPI) -- Reggie Sanders romped home with the game's only run on Larry Walker's 10th-inning single Saturday as the St. Louis Cardinals beat the Houston Astros, 1-0.

Mark Mulder gave up just four hits over 10 scoreless innings for the win. Mulder (2-1) has now scattered six hits with one unearned run in 18 frames over his last two starts. It was Mulder's his ninth career shutout and 23rd career complete game.

Sanders started the 10th with an infield single off of Chad Qualls (1-2). He moved to second on David Eckstein's groundout. Walker hit an 0-1 pitch to center off Brad Lidge for the winning run.

La Russa earned his 2,124 managerial win to tie with Joe McCarthy for fifth place on the all-time list.

Houston's Roger Clemens pitched seven scoreless innings in search of his 330th career win,
