Levi leads Legends of Golf by one shot

SAVANNAH, Ga., April 23 (UPI) -- Wayne Levi shot 4-under 68 Saturday to take a one-shot lead after the second round of the Liberty Mutual Legends of Golf.

Levi, 53, stands at 9-under 135 while first-round leader Tom Purtzer is at 136.

Tom Jenkins had a 67 to tie Des Smyth for third place at 137. Mark McNulty and Leonard Thompson were at 138.

"I've been playing well the entire year, I just haven't won yet," Levi said. "I am starting to putt better which helps. I could have had a pretty good lead, but it was a tough day."

Craig Stadler, Bob Gilder, Dana Quigley, Gil Morgan, Jim Thorpe and J.C. Snead share seventh place at 5-under 139.

Jay Haas, Jim Dent, Bruce Fleisher and D.A. Weibring are one shot further back at 140.
