HILTON HEAD ISLAND, S.C., April 16 (UPI) -- Peter Lonard of Australia shot a 5-under-par 66 Saturday to move ahead of Darren Clarke of Ireland for the third-round lead of the MCI Heritage.
Lonard has a 54-hole total of 11-under 202, one shot better than Clarke, who held a six-shot lead after Friday's second round. Clarke had four bogies in his first seven holes to lose his entire lead.
"It all fell into place," said Lonard, who is winless on the PGA Tour. He has a 54-hole lead for the first time in his career.
Third-place Rod Pampling shot a 68 Saturday and is five shots off the pace at 6-under 207. Five-time Heritage winner Davis Love III had a 69 and is fourth at 208.
Jose Maria Olazabal (69), Stephen Ames (69) and Loren Roberts (68) share fifth place at 4-under 209.
