Daveport keeps winning streak going

CHARLESTON, S.C., April 13 (UPI) -- Lindsay Davenport continued her sizzling start to the season Wednesday by reaching the third round of the Family Circle Cup.

Davenport, winner of 15 out of 16 matches and the top ranked player in the world, defeated Marie-Eve Pelletier, 6-2, 6-2. She has won her last six matches and walked away with the title last Sunday at Amelia Island.

Viktoriyaq Kutuzova will provide the opposition for Davenport in the next round, Kutuzova advanced Wednesday with a 6-3, 6-1 victory over Fabiola Zuluaga.

Justine Henin-Hardenne also moved into the third round by defeating Shuai Pent, 6-2, 4-6, 6-4.

Anastasia Myskina became the day's biggest upset victim, losing to 15-year-old Nicole Vaidisova, 6-3, 5-7, 6-4.
