Pitt's Krauser to try for NBA

PITTSBURGH, April 12 (UPI) -- Pittsburgh junior point guard Carl Krauser Tuesday became the second Panthers starter in a week to announce he will enter the NBA draft.

Sophomore center Chris Taft said on April 5 he would try for the NBA.

Krauser, however, has not signed with an agent, as Taft did, so it is possible he could return to Pitt before the draft withdrawal deadline June 21.

"With Carl scheduled to graduate this year, he wants to see where he stands with NBA Draft possibilities," Coach Jamie Dixon said.

"He has expressed a desire not to retain an agent and have the opportunity to return to the University of Pittsburgh next year. We support him in his goals while he finishes up requirements for graduation."

Krauser led Pitt this season in scoring (16 points per game), assists, three-point shots made, steals and free throw percentage.
