CHICAGO, April 11 (UPI) -- Four San Diego pitchers shut down the Chicago Cubs in a 1-0 victory Monday.

Adam Eaton (1-0) pitched six innings, followed by relievers Scott Linebrink, Akinori Otsuka and Trevor Hoffman.

The Cubs outhit the Padres 6-4 but San Diego managed to get the only run of the game on an error, double by Ryan Klesko and groundout by Ramon Hernandez in the sixth.

Ryan Dempster (0-2), the loser, gave up a run and four hits in six innings.
