MLB: Cincinnati 9, NY Mets 5

CINCINNATI, April 6 (UPI) -- Joe Randa delivered a grand slam and drove in six runs Wednesday night to carry Cincinnati past the New York Mets.

Eric Milton, starting his first game for the Reds, picked up the win by allowing three runs over 5 1/3 innings.

Randa is also a newcomer to Cincinnati, having spent his last six seasons in Kansas City.

He went three for four and produced his grand slam in the eighth to give the Reds a six-run lead.

Tom Glavine took the loss, giving up five runs on nine hits with three walks over 3 2/3 innings.
