Baylor, MSU to vie for women's title

INDIANAPOLIS, April 4 (UPI) -- Michigan State and Baylor will play Tuesday night in Indianapolis for the women's NCAA basketball championship.

The Spartans came from 16 points behind and eliminated Tennessee 68-64 and Baylor went on a late run to beat LSU 68-57 in semifinal games Sunday night.

Neither finalist has won a national title.

Lindsay Bowen scored 18 points to lead Michigan State (33-3).

Alexis Hornbuckle led Tennessee with 16. The Lady Vols, last year's tournament runner-up, finished at 30-5.

Baylor fell behind early, caught up and then broke out of a tie with just under six minutes to play in its victory over the Lady Tigers.

Sophia Young led the Lady Bears (32-3) with 21 points.

Seimone Augustus led LSU (33-3), which had been the nation's top-ranked team.
