Poll has Klitschko still top heavyweight

Vitali Klitschko remained atop the world heavyweight rankings Saturday, according to the latest Boxing Writers' Rankings Poll.

The independent monthly survey of the sweet science saw Chris Byrd and John Ruiz leading the challengers to the Ukrainian champ, followed by Hasim Rahman and James "Lights Out" Toney.

Other results found Wayne Braithwaite and Jean-Marc Mormeck ranked No. 1 and No.2 heading into Saturday's night's cruiserweight unification bout in Worcester, Mass.

Mark Antonio Barrera was selected tops in the junior lightweight division over arch-rival Erik Morales with Jesus Chavex ranked third.

Other fighters of note ranked No. 1 in their divisions included: Oscar Larios in the junior featherweights; Kostya Tszyu in the junior welterweights; welterweight Zab Judah, and Glen Johnson in the light heavyweight division.
