Hewitt moved onto the semifinals, where he will play either Andy Roddick or Carlos Moya.

Davenport, meanwhile, stunned Wimbledon champion Maria Sharapova in the semis, 6-0, 6-0. They were on the court for just 49 minutes.

That created a championship match against Kim Clijsters, who also had an easy time of it with a 6-4, 6-2 victory over Elena Dementieva.

Davenport's win was her first ever against Sharapova, who had won their only two previous meetings. It was Davenport's ninth straight match victory and improved her record this year to 19-2.
