NBA: Phoenix 106, Denver 101

DENVER, March 13 (UPI) -- Steve Nash and Joe Johnson were a potent one-two punch Sunday night when they led the Phoenix Suns to a 106-101 victory over the Denver Nuggets.

The Suns won for the fifth time in six games and moved one-half game ahead of San Antonio for the top spot in the NBA's Western Conference.

Kenyon Martin had 21 points and nine rebounds and Earl Boykins had 20 points and nine assists for the Nuggets.

Denver had its eight-game winning streak halted.
