NBA: LA Lakers 117, Charlotte 116

CHARLOTTE, N.C., March 12 (UPI) -- Kobe Bryant scored with less than a second remaining Saturday night to give the Los Angeles Lakers a 117-116 victory over the Charlotte Bobcats.

Bryant scored 21 of his 32 points in the final quarter, as the Lakers overcame a 10-point fourth-quarter deficit. It was the Lakers fourth win in their last five games.

Emeka Okafor had 30 points and 11 rebounds to become the first Bobcat to score as many as 30 points.

Brevin Knight, out three games with an ankle injury, added 21 points and 17 assists for Charlotte. But the Bobcats suffered their 16th loss in their last 18 games.

The Bobcats staged a 14-6 run to take a 100-90 lead with 7 1/2 minutes left in the game. But Bryant led the comeback by scoring the next nine points for the Lakers.
