CHICAGO, Feb. 25 (UPI) -- Kirk Hinrich scored 26 points Friday night to help Chicago fight off a Washington rally and down the Wizards, 97-90.

It was Chicago's fifth victory in six games. Ben Gordon chipped in 20 points as the Bulls handed Washington its sixth straight road loss.

Washington was led by Gilbert Arenas' 36 points.

The Wizards came back from a nine-point deficit at halftime to take a three-point lead in the third period.

Chicago, however, ran off nine straight points to open an eight-point cushion going into the fourth period.
