Injury may sideline Mississippi St. star

STARKVILLE, Miss., Feb. 22 (UPI) -- Mississippi State forward Lawrence Roberts, the Southeast Conference's No. 1 rebounder, is listed as day-to-day with a knee injury suffered against Kentucky.

Roberts, who grabs 11 rebounds per game and is also the conference's fourth leading scorer (17.4), was injured late in the Saturday contest in an awkward fall when he got tangled up with the Wildcats' Ramel Bradley.

Coach Rick Stansbury doesn't know when the 6-9 senior will return.

"We don't think it's any ligaments, but (his status) is totally up in the air right now," Stansbury told the Starkville News.

The unranked Bulldogs (18-8, 6-6 SEC) next play Wednesday night at Georgia.
