Former champ Chela upset at Acapulco

ACAPULCO, Mexico, Feb. 21 (UPI) -- Former champion Juan Ignacio Chela was upset Monday in the opening round of the Abierto Mexicano Telcel.

Chela lost to fellow Argentine Juan Monaco, 6-2, 6-3. Chela won this tournament in 2000, when it was held in Mexico City.

Argentine Agustin Calleri, another former winner, advanced by beating Frenchman Olivier Patience 7-5, 7-6 (7-5). Calleri won here in 2003, beating Mariano Zabaleta in an all-Argentine finale.
