Dr. Richard Steadman, who performed the surgery, cut out some of the cartilage from Jacobsen's knee.

Jacobsen hopes to return to tournament play at the PGA Tour's Players Championship, March 21-27. He had planned to play in this week's Champions Tour ACE Group Classic in Naples.

Jacobsen underwent hip surgery in April.
