COL BKB: Gonzaga 82, Pepperdine 75

LOS ANGELES, Feb. 11 (UPI) -- Clutch free-throw shooting by Ronny Turiaf and Erroll Knight Thursday night gave No. 17 Gonzaga an 82-75 win over Pepperdine.

Pepperdine closed within two points with 37 seconds to play on a three-point shot by Yakhouba Diawara, but the Waves could not score again.

Turiaf made two free throws with 32 seconds left, Knight hit two more with 20 seconds to go and Turiaf added another with 14 seconds remaining.

Turiaf scored 20 points to lead Gonzaga, which advanced to 18-4 and to 7-2 in the West Coast Conference. The Bulldogs won their fifth in a row and moved a half game ahead of idle St. Mary's atop the league.

Pepperdine (13-12, 3-7) was led by Diawara and Glen McGowen with 24 points each.
