NBA: Milwaukee 121, Boston 97

MILWAUKEE, Feb. 8 (UPI) -- Mike James made eight three-pointers and scored 28 points Tuesday night as the Milwaukee Bucks posted a 121-97 victory over the Boston Celtics.

Also Tuesday, the Celtics traded forward Walter McCarty to the Phoenix Suns for a 2005 conditional second-round draft choice and cash.

The Celtics activated forward Justin Reed, who had been out with a knee injury. Reed and Raef LaFrentz led Boston scoring with 13 points each.

Eastern Conference Player of the Week Paul Pierce was held to seven points on 2-of-10 shooting for the Celtics.

Milwaukee outscored Boston 42-15 in the second quarter and led 78-46 at halftime after scoring the final 22 points of the half.
