Gaudio beats Gonzalez for title in Chile

VINA DEL MAR, Chile, Feb. 6 (UPI) -- Argentina's Gaston Gaudio won for the first time since last year's French Open Sunday by beating Fernando Gonzalez 6-3, 6-4 in the BellSouth Open.

Gaudio also won here in 2001.

Gonzalez, a native of Chile, sought his third title on home soil in four years. He has won two of his four career championships at this event.
