Prep quarterback prize eyes Texas, LSU

AUSTIN, Texas, Jan. 28 (UPI) -- Quarterback Ryan Perrilloux, USA Today's high school player of the year, is expected to decide this weekend whether he will attend Texas or LSU.

Perrilloux is committed to Texas but the Reserve, La., signal-caller is still interested in Louisiana State, where he will be taking an official visit this weekend.

"I can go up (to LSU) anytime I want, but mainly, I'm just going to look at how they do it first-class," Perrilloux told the Austin American-Statesman.

But since Perrilloux committed to the Longhorns in July, no player in the nation has captured the imaginations and stoked the fears of two fan bases like he has done to Texas and LSU, both of whom need a quarterback of his talent.

And while Perrilloux has listed Mississippi State, Florida State, Miami and South Florida as schools of interest, most believe he will choose between the Longhorns and the Tigers.
