LEXINGTON, Ky., Jan. 22 (UPI) -- The eighth-ranked Kentucky Wildcats posted a lop-sided 89-58 victory Saturday over SEC foe Louisiana State.
Kelenna Azubuike scored 16 points, Patrick Sparks 15, and
Ramel Bradley and Chuck Hayes 10 each for the Wildcats (14-2, 5-0 SEC), who have won 10 of their last 11 games.
Brandon Bass led the Tigers with 14 points and 10 rebounds. LSU (9-6, 2-2) had a three-game winning streak snapped.
LSU started with a 5-0 lead, but Kentucky scored 23 of the next 26 points to move ahead 23-8. The Tigers were able to cut the deficit to 28-20, but Sparks made a three-pointer to begin an 11-5 run that gave the Wildcats a 39-25 lead with 5:50 left in the first half.
