Vince Carter led New Jersey with 17 while Jason Kidd had 16.

Juwan Howard, who scored 12 points, put Houston in front for good with three minutes remaining in the overtime and Sura hit a three-pointer to send the Rockets on their way.

Houston let an eight-point lead get away in the final seven minutes and missed a chance to win in regulation when David Wesley's three-pointer in the closing seconds just failed to beat the shot clock.
