The Diamondbacks acquired pitchers Javier Vazquez and Brad Halsey, catcher Dioner Navarro and cash from the New York Yankees in exchange for five-time Cy Young Award winner Randy Johnson, and then sent Navarro and minor league pitchers Danny Muegge, Beltran Perez and William Juarez to the Dodgers in exchange for Green and cash.

Green, 32, waived his no-trade clause and agreed to a three-year, $32 million contract.

Last season, Green hit .266 with 28 homers and 86 RBI, helping the Dodgers win the National League West.

Green, a career .282 hitter, averaged 32 home runs and 102 RBI a year in his five seasons with the Dodgers.
