COL BKB: Connecticut 123, Quinnipiac 71

HARTFORD, Conn., Dec. 30 (UPI) -- Josh Boone scored 22 points Thursday night and 11th-ranked Connecticut overcame a slow start to crush Quinnipiac, 123-71.

The Huskies (8-1) shot 57 percent from the floor with Rudy Gay adding 15 points. Connecticut won its first four of the season and now has won four in a row again.

Rob Monroe scored 16 points for Quinnipiac (4-5). The Bulldogs jumped to an 8-2 lead, only to see Connecticut go on a 19-5 run to take control.

The Huskies led at the half, 56-31.
