COL BKB: North Carolina 93, Vermont 65

CHAPEL HILL, N.C., Dec. 21 (UPI) -- Sean May had 20 points and eight rebounds Tuesday night to lead the fifth-ranked North Carolina Tar Heels to a 93-65 win over the Vermont Catamounts.

Rashad McCants added 19 points for the Tar Heels (9-1), who have won nine straight after losing their season opener to Santa Clara.

Vermont pulled to 20-17 at the 8:36 mark on a T.J. Sorrentine 3-pointer, but the Tar Heels ended the half on a 23-5 run, which included 11 straight points, and led 43-22 at the half.

Down by 20 points, 52-32, four minutes into the stanza, Vermont was outscored 15-2.
