COL BKB: Miss State 74, New Orleans 59

NEW ORLEANS, Dec. 13 (UPI) -- Shane Power scored 17 points and Lawrence Roberts added 14 with 11 rebounds Monday night to lead No. 23 Mississippi State over New Orleans, 74-59.

Jamall Edmondson sank 4-of-6 from 3-point range and also had 14 points for Mississippi State (8-2), which has won six of its last seven games.

Bo McCalebb led New Orleans (3-4) with 16 points. Chad Barnes had 15 for the Privateers, who lost at home for the first time in three games this season.

New Orleans stayed within single digits until Roberts scored six straight points to give the Bulldogs a 66-53 advantage with under five minutes to play.
